Your Seamstress is Judy Ritter.
I've lived all my fifty-something years within 60
miles of Cleveland. I love Ohio, even the blankety blank snow. And I love to sew,
without question. {My late grandmother Hilma taught me how to embroider, knit and crochet when I was 8 and I've not been bored one moment since then. No one was allowed to touch her treadle machine, but I watched for hours, and my mother allowed me to use her electric Singer when she felt I was able to sew without hurting myself. I made a green dress for my one doll and never touched her machine again.} Heirloom sewing captured my heart and imagination over 13 years ago. It all started with a PBS show called "Martha's Sewing Room". After half an hour I was hooked. And who doesn't love to sew baby clothes? It's the perfect vocation for me. I am privileged to have sewn over 1600 christening gowns (sew far) for babies all over the world. pun intended I chose "Whiteworks" as the name for my christening gown business because that is the traditional style of sewing/embroidery used for constructing and embroidering christening gowns--especially in the Victorian Era. I sometimes feel I was born a century too late! We can do this much faster by machine now! So if you've decided to start a family tradition with a lovely baby gown let's talk! I would love to help you design a new heirloom for your family. I make each gown to order, one at a time, and love every moment, hoping for a perfect fit and comfortable garment for each baby I help dress. Thank you for letting me help make Baby's first formal occasion a little bit more special and personal. If you have a dream of a gown in your head, let's talk. I'd love to make it happen. Visit the Baby section to see what others have designed! 440-474-4009 Eastern time zone, until 11 pm.
Whiteworks is not a brick and mortar store. Sorry. No brochures or catalog. I'd love to create something for you from a sketch or photo if you have them. :)
