Your Seamstress is Judy Ritter.

OK, one too many glasses of Moscato, but it was a great birthday party for a 4-year-old and a great excuse for a family reunion!

I've lived all my fifty-something years within 50 miles of Cleveland.  I love Ohio.  And I love to sew.
I've been sewing since I got married in 1974--and a little for home economics class--don't ask.  My late grandmother taught me how to embroider, knit and crochet when I was 8 and I've not been bored one moment since then.

Heirloom sewing captured my heart and imagination over 13 years ago.

It all started with a PBS show called "Martha's Sewing Room".  After half an hour I was hooked.  And who doesn't love to sew baby clothes?   It's the perfect vocation for me.

I chose "Whiteworks" as the name for my christening gown business because that was the traditional style of sewing/embroidery used for constructing and embroidering christening gowns in the Victorian Era.  I sometimes feel I was born a century too late!  We can do this much faster by machine now!

So if you're looking to start a family heirloom, let's talk!  I would love to help you design a new heirloom for your family.  Visit the Baby section to see what others have designed!
