One skein of Lion Brand Pound of Love yarn, size 10 needles.

 

Cast on 147

Row 1: P

Row 2: *K1, P1* across, end K1.

   Repeat rows 1 and 2, 3 more times for border.  ( I call it the Chorus.)

 

Row 9: *P7, K1, YO, K2tog, K4* repeat, end P7.

Row 10: *K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P7* repeat, end K1, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K1.

Row 11: *P7, K2 , YO, K2tog, K3*, repeat, end P7.

Row 12:  Repeat row 10.

Row 13: *P7, K3, YO, K2tog, K2 *, repeat, end P7.

Row 14:  Repeat row 10.

Row 15: *P7, K4, YO, K2tog, K1*, repeat, end P7.

Row 16:  Repeat row 10.

Row 17: *P7, K5, YO, K2tog*, repeat, end P7.

Row 18: Repeat row 10.

(chorus)

Rows 19-24:  Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for those 6 rows.

 

Repeat rows 9-24 for pattern until you're down to enough yarn for a border…continue repeating rows 1 and 2, then cast off loosely.

 

Variation 1:  P through the back on all P stitches in the lattice work sections.  This makes a great twist.  You may also reverse rows of stockinette lace in alternating sections, as shown in picture below.  Instructions follow.

 

Row 1: P all stitches.

Row 2: *K1, P1 through the back*, repeat across, end K1.

   Repeat rows 1 and 2, 3 more times for border.  (This is "lattice work" but I call it the Chorus.)

 

Row 9: *P7, K1, YO, K2tog, K4* repeat, end P7.

Row 10: {*K1, P1 through the back*, 3 times, K1, P7} repeat, end K1, P1 through the back*, 3 times, K1.

Row 11: *P7, K2 , YO, K2tog, K3*, repeat, end P7.

Row 12:  Repeat row 10.

Row 13: *P7, K3, YO, K2tog, K2 *, repeat, end P7.

Row 14:  Repeat row 10.

Row 15: *P7, K4, YO, K2tog, K1*, repeat, end P7.

Row 16:  Repeat row 10.

Row 17: *P7, K5, YO, K2tog *, repeat, end P7.

Row 18:  Repeat row 10.

Rows 19-24:  Repeat Rows 1 and 2.
